Measurement Tool only measures from center

When toying around with the measurement tool, I found that I was only able to measure from the center of a square, which is a bit of a problem in a system like D&D 4e where measurements are done from the corners of the square, and lines are used from the corners to determine cover. Only being able to measure from the center isn't a very big issue for measuring distances, but being able to draw the line from corners to other corners would be nice.

Well, currently it only locks it to the center when you have the grid turned on. Without the grid on, you can free-form measure however you want. Maybe instead of only locking it to the center with the grid on we will lock it the center or corners. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, it'd be nice if when the grid was on it would snap to the center if you clicked to start near the center and the corners if you started near them. On a similar topic, do you think it would be possible to adjust the increments used for measuring? I can think of 4e and BattleTech that use the number of spaces moved instead of by increments of 5, which would be nice for convenience instead of dividing it by 5 mentally. A field in the campaign options for what defines a space and how many of that measurement is in one space would be a pretty nice catch-all.

At this point we're debating whether or not we'll have a different increment list shown OR if we'll simply put a numerical value as the increments don't actually matter. Either way, it's something that we're looking at for the near future.

The measurement tool also doesn't measure the correct distance... You can see this by trying to measure from one corner of the default grid to the other. It claims its 120 feet, when in fact it should be a bit larger.

This is because by default the measurement tool when you use a square grid is using the 4E rule of diagonal distance being equivalent to one "square". We're planning to add an option so you can change that. Thanks for pointing that out, though, so others are aware.

I would love to see the measure tool be toggled between square count measurements (as Kellion Bane pointed out) and actual distances. As I recall, there were some advanced rules for Battletech that made use of actual distances instead of hex counts. Also, would it be possible to change the units of the grid, so it doesn't always have to be 5 ft. squares?
